Johan became a business broker almost by default, and it turned out to be a very stimulating choice of profession. Having been a potential business buyer looking to invest, he learned from the buyer’s perspective what he’d expect from a business broker and what information a potential buyer would want from a seller. The systems and processes used by LINK impressed him and he decided to join LINK as a broker in early 2016.
In a professional career spanning 30 years since graduating as a mechanical engineer, Johan worked for businesses ranging from a small family business, to large state owned enterprises and multi-nationals.
Thrown in there was a stint as business owner where he learned first-hand about cash flow management. This experience also taught the lesson of what creates value in a business when the business was sold to a large national group.
His experience ranges from design to marketing, safety processes, project management, technical sales, marketing, customer support and a lot in between. Continuing education plays a large role in Johan’s personal and professional life. Besides obtaining professional qualifications, an Honours degree and MBA, Johan reads extensively. His family forms a very important part of his life and being a business broker allows him to schedule his time to share experiences with them.
Johan values honesty and integrity and that means doing things the right way. Johan is the go to person for buyers if you wish to do a targeted search for a specific type of business or if you want to sell a manufacturing, engineering or automotive services business.
