Jannie started his career in the early eighties as an artisan and was soon appointed to train learners and artisans for a large listed Corporate Company (Cement Manufacturing). He was then promoted to the position of Learning and Development Officer of a large factory within the Company.

Realising that he had a passion for people and an interest in sound business management, he obtained a B.Com degree, majoring in Business Management and Industrial Psychology. He then occupied the position of Human Resources Manager and later Organisational Performance Manager. 

The position of Organisational Performance Manager required training, enforcing and monitoring all aspects of business performance in the Organisation. He then had the challenge of building and establishing a Learning Academy for the Company, running it as a separate business entity.

Having a passion for people and business, he left the corporate world after 27 years and acquired his own businesses in the liquor trade which he took from strength to strength. More recently, he owns and manages commercial property.
